The three level roof system supports a native plant meadow including viburnum and other native shrubs. The 22,000 sq.ft. area consists of a green roof of our ultra-lightweight GaiaSoil over blue roof, where swales hold between one and two inches of water, depending on the bearing capacity of the specific roof section.

This green roof is unique in that the bottom section: the roof over the swimming pool; is watered weekly with backwash from the swimming pool filter. Plants resistant to chlorine, including native saltmarsh, are planted on this roof to cover the roof and utilize this grey water source to support their growth
